I am horrified by the attack outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Lord Campbell of Pittenweem - Menzies or Ming - former MP for North East Fife. I won’t forget my time working in the House of Commons alongside him - he was kind, principled and held with respect by all parties. My thoughts go to his family.
