Who’s vetting ideas anyway. Is the definition of a good idea what will make a billionaire money at everyone else’s expense? Because otherwise I think we have plenty of good ideas. We just lack the resources to execute them.

I always saw the shining city metaphor as a place where everything is fake shiny and whatever doesn't fit is eradicated. I think in part because of how it places America materially above everywhere else rather than making it a part of the world.

Someone should tell studio execs that if they don’t explain the creatures, this leaves them an opening to release an origin story where Jared Leto plays a particularly beleaguered creature as we learn what inane situation drove it to violence.

It's still great, though the fact that Angela is just careening through life, as teens do, and Jordan has a single brain cell makes a lot of it like "oh girl what are you _doing_?" It's a remarkably accurate and honest show about teens.
