Scrutinizing sound since 1958.
His Manfred Mann Chapter Three phase produced some truly bizarre music that retains its strangeness decades later. At the same time, he financed this project by writing jingles. The range of his musical curiosity is further displayed by his album Lone Arranger.

I've heard folks from such churches say "We love Pastor's sermons because he tells it like it is!" Suggesting to me that "Pastor" does't challenge them to consider their views more thoughtfully, rather he reinforces that which they already believe and provides religious cover for their prejudices.

On the leadership side, for men who crave authority and wielding it, ministry in a church that you established offers a lot of options, and limited oversight. On the congregational side, I think many are drawn to a church leader w9th a charismatic personality who feeds their insecurities.

Look at the vocabulary used in comics, it’s not dumbed down whatsoever. I once checked the reading level of early Spider-Man and X-Men and it was grade 11 or higher. I would wager that kids into comics have better reading comprehension. Have any studies on this ever been done?

No kidding. Once sat through a 2-hour Zoom meeting discussing a course proposal that everyone agreed was needed but foundered completely because the two professors that wrote the proposal were from different departments and no one could agree on which department would get the course designation.

I later served on the curriculum committee, but only because I thought I could be helpful

My proudest achievement just might be having attained tenure without a single mention of any activity on behalf of the faculty senate whatsoever.

How’s it compare to a Lemon Star Sora?

Apart from the joyful cavalcade of fonts on that box, I'm impressed with that someone at the company was sufficiently dazzled with the phrase "magic finger clutch" that they thought, "We'd better register that, and fast!"

I feel like so much of this season’s struggle could have been avoided if Salloi had made a different choice on that matter.

Good luck. We’re all counting on you.

I bought one when it came out and it's one of the best in the entire series.

Wow. I used to watch that when I was in high school but I’d forgotten that theme. You wouldn’t even notice if the episode was dull after that audio equivalent of a Swedish massage…

I (checks notes) have been telling you this for some time now...

I've had to have a number of scans like that in recent years. The technicians always offer headphones with classic rock or somesuch, and I always say, "nah, I'll enjoy the sounds of your machine more, I'm good." Their expression suggests that they assume that's WHY they're scanning my brain...

I think you explained it just fine, and I concur. There's something exhilarating about experiencing art that defies/transcends rationality. Colorblind James said it this way: "Oh Lord, it makes me feel so good, when I don't know where I stand..."

Absolutely, maybe THE most amazing. I regard The Return as Lynch's grand gesture as an artist, and Part 8 is the basis for that opinion. He uses absolutely everything he'd ever learned.
