Black rat snakes have the best wiggles.
A black rat snake just casually hanging out on the side of a tree trunk. There are no branches, the snake is just artfully using various bits of its body to hang onto tiny crevices and bumps in the tree bark. It gives the impression of a rope made entirely of muscle.

Does it simply make us feel warmer toward known things (like people we know) than toward unknown things (people we don’t know)? a few years ago someone gave me fancy alpaca blend socks, which were Luxuriantly Fuzzy when new

since then the alpaca fiber has been slowly working its way out of the socks, forming pills, and leaving behind perfectly serviceable wool, notably in high wear areas
a large fuzzy lavender colored sock. on the leg part you can see longer fuzzier fibers exiting the fabric to form pills. on the sole of the foot, this process has been completed, leaving behind ordinary non extremely fuzzy knit fabric.

Squeezing the Bay Area Although the dominant movement between the Pacific and North American Plates now is strike-slip, about 3.5 million years ago or perhaps several million years earlier, a small change in plate motion took place. The Pacific and North American Plates began to collide at a slight angle instead of just sliding past each other. This combination of two types of fault movement is called transpression. Much of the hilly Bay Area landscape had been formed in the past several million years by this squeeze play between the plates.
