Do you suppose this disparity in how Democrats and Republicans are treated in the media is an example of what Noam Chomsky wrote in “Manufacturing Consent”? The entities involved are profit driven, and if they’re political donors as well, they’ll likely favor the GOP as more friendly to their aims.

There’s the slimmest, most outside chance that Trump was not being truthful. It’s really hard to imagine that he would do that, though.

1. The ability to sue over their phone records in relation to the Jan 6 investigations.

This other thing is that Democrats aren’t playing 3-D chess here. They were driving a semi and lost a game of chicken to an opponent that was riding a Big Wheel. Only this time, everyone gets to foot the bill. Here’s what they did get:

The administration was ordered by the court to release SNAP payments from the funds held in reserve by Dept. of Agriculture. I’m not giving credit for that either. The only lesson anyone learned is that mass starvation is a useful political tool.

Back pay for federal workers in a shutdown furlough was already the law from the 2018-2019 shutdown, iirc. So I’m not willing to give credit for that.

Being in the majority does not do much to keep Senate Dems from giving up either. I’m trying this morning to understand what is even the point of the Democratic Party.
