If Eisenhower wasn't such a warhawk, the cold war could have ended by 1960 and instead, the two global superpowers could work together. Millions of lives would be spared from future conflict. Of course the bourgeois would fight this no matter what, but Eisenhower was the one who bent to their will.

This ultimately angered Krushchev, and would eventually lead to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Essentially proving that Krushchev's revisionism and reformism meant nothing to the US government and ensuring the cold war would continue for decades.

You could argue Truman is worse but Eisenhower played his role in making sure it continue. When Krushchev took power, he bent over backwards to give Eisenhower everything to end the cold war, with his only condition being not to send spy drones into the USSR. Eisenhower agreed but then spied anyway.

Harry Truman was also awful, but people have talked about every bad thing he caused in detail. Eisenhower was just as bad if not worse imo, and yet hardly anyone even in leftist circles ever acknowledges it. And outside of leftist circles, he's treated as a hero when he doesn't deserve it at all.

Humanity needs to help each other, the system of exploitation and division can't be allowed to continue, it is making everyone's lives worse... and yet the capitalists have so much power... it makes me feel hopeless
