Oat milk good, Coldplay bad
Blame me and my mother for this one, back in 2014 I let slip over dinner that I love a chocolate orange and now she buys about 453 million quid's worth each Christmas. Single handedly keeping Terry's in business

Adrian Chiles once again proving that not only AI can produce meaningless, nonsensical slop that no one in their right mind wants to read

I agree, I don't personally believe it to be a choice as they claim if it's opt-out. Not making a choice should always = "no", otherwise someone else is choosing for us.
December 17, 2025 at 6:20 PM
They say "AI should always be a choice - something people can easily turn off" so it sounds like opt out. Also feels like the second half of that statement contradicts the first to some extent

Then go and count.

It feels like the minimum is 2 weeks with this new strain. I've never experienced anything quite like it

I'm a school teacher and I came back after 16 days to find that some of my students who got ill before me were still absent, several of them with pneumonia

This attacker should never see freedom again. Not as a punishment, deterrent or consequence, but as a safety measure for everyone in the country. If one's mental state is so unstable that it can lead to 134 attempted murders, then it is incompatible with freedom.

There's no rehabilitation for that.

The only people who get worse healthcare than the very poorest are the very richest. They can find some morally devoid parasite who will rubber stamp whatever prescription they ask for until they end up killing themselves.

Glad to see some of them going to prison (or house arrest in this case)

Maybe also hail the method by which it was found, not by corporations hoarding and shielding their research to maximize value, but by a collaboration of non-profits

"there is no clear consensus" and "the government will take time to get [the proposal] right" is absolute horse shit. There is an overwhelming consensus and what they're saying is they think they can make some small cosmetic changes and force it though.
December 16, 2025 at 7:24 AM
A great idea but I don't trust this government with it, with them it's going to end up being a bunch of hoops for the grieving to jump through, lots of new ways to overcharge and no regulation on pricing.

My school is trying to encourage me to make AI podcasts to go with my lessons so my students can keep up from home and I just stare blankly into the soul of anyone who brings it up to me. Such a poor idea

He was an amazing director and creator, but Shawshank is not part of his legacy. He tried to buy it out and make something completely different, but Darabont wouldn't go for it

I watch a therapist on YouTube sometimes and one thing he said sticks so hard in my brain. "If men went to therapy when they needed it I'd probably go out of business, because most of my patients are their victims".

One of those quotes that just sticks in the brain and won't go away
December 15, 2025 at 3:47 PM
That's exactly what you did, saying someone is "no different" is a comparative term.

I'm not arguing that putting someone's head on a spike is anything short of barbaric, that's clear from what I wrote. A person doing that is absolutely not "no different" to a person carrying out atrocities though.
December 15, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Saying that they would be no different from him is a monstrous minimization of his horrific crimes against humanity. Killing a prisoner is always wrong regardless of their guilt or severity, but it's absolutely not the same as killing tens of thousands of innocent prisoners.
December 15, 2025 at 12:27 PM
Stating a fact that sounds like it contradicts what I've written but, in reality, is barely relevant doesn't achieve much.

Even if those rules regulated who can use which (they don't) and applied to public bathrooms (they don't) then they'd make almost all women's toilets gender neutral.
December 14, 2025 at 3:22 PM
This is little foot, he's little hands, probably related
December 14, 2025 at 2:15 PM
The only toilets I have seen policed in my life are the disabled ones in Eldon Square, Newcastle. Even there sex/gender isn't the issue, it's just some jumped up little Hitler on security screaming at disabled people for not looking disabled enough
December 14, 2025 at 1:43 PM
This is the thing I just don't understand about all this.

There never was a rule about which toilets to use, just an expectation. You don't go to prison for walking into the wrong bathroom.

They're acting like they're changing the rule back to "single sex" but they're making up a new one.

0.5 percentage points or 19%. You'd only give the percentage rise when talking about things like interest rates

I'm sick of these unexpected economic shrinkages, the economy seems to unexpectedly shrink every week
