Here are some links to help you on your writing journey! Name Generators- one of the most difficult parts of writing is choosing a name for your characters! In fact, I have an entire page dedicated to naming OCs here Writing about Injuries- writing about traumatic injuries is hard, especially since you’ve probably never experienced one! click here to see a great masterlist of information on the topic Creating an OC- need some help creating or solidifying your very own OC? Writing about illegal activities- how much does an illegal firearm cost? drugs? body parts? As a writer, (and even more so for a crime writer) you’ve probably had to write about illegal activities, and (hopefully) you’ve never experienced them! google searching such things could be dangerous. Instead, check out this website here, called Havocscope. It’s a safe and efficient way to get the information you need! Organizing thoughts- If you’re not really the paper-and-pencil note keeper type, check out Evernote here! It’s a virtual organizer that lets you collect all your notes, stories, and links, and keep them in one place! It even lets you set reminders! Music for concentration- Nothing helps increase concentration like some good tunes! I’ve created an entire page for writing music, which you can find here. Feel free to send me some music recommendations through my askbox! The Ultimate Writers App- Writers lists is one of the most useful tools for any writer! It’s got lists for pretty much anything you can think of, including names, character traits, plot lines, occupations, obsessions, action verbs, and much MUCH more! Get it from iTunes here or on the google play store here. Grammar- oh grammar, the bane of a writer’s existence. If you find grammar to be difficult, try getting grammerly here! It catches the stuff that spellchecks don’t, it works on pretty much anything (emails, social media, documents) and it’s free! It can also give suggestions for stronger word choices and better sentence structures. Concentration- You’ve finally set aside time to write that story you’ve been thinking of for so long, only to spend the entire time on social media! Coldturkey (for windows) and Focus (for macs) keep websites like Facebook blocked long enough to finally get some writing done!
