Forgive me if I’m overstepping! David is their editor so they don’t show up in episodes but sometimes when an editor note pops up that’s them (but I think Jacob also edits so idk if it’s clear who edits which episode).

Anyhow, watch Dropout where there isn’t an incentive because their main goal has to be to engage and appreciate viewers since they don’t work with advertisers.

For the quick version: most shows with an elimination ending, especially 1 ep/week shows, need to keep vital info from viewers to incentivize them to stay to the end because they don’t know what will happen. While this keeps eyes on the screen, it devalues the trust of viewer to show.
