One week into a government shutdown, and Republicans still refuse to show up to work, or do anything to protect the health care of millions of Americans.

I didn’t come to Washington to play political games, I came to help Orange County. I’m here with one simple message— Let’s get back to work.

Today marks two years since the Hamas terrorist attack that stole 1,200 lives, and prompted Israel’s war in Gaza which has taken the lives of more than 65,000 Palestinians and displaced more than 2 million civilians. I mourn all those who have lost their lives and call for a swift end to this war.

I’m back in DC ready to fight to reopen the government and protect your health care. Unfortunately, the halls are empty because Republicans decided to give themselves another week of vacation rather than work for the American people.

It's been two weeks since Adelita Grijalva was elected and Mike Johnson has still refused to seat her, unlike in past cases where he swore in new members within 24 hours.

There cannot be one set of rules for Rs and another for Ds.

Also, release the damn Epstein files already.

Being a federal law enforcement agent does not give you an exemption from the law. The statute of limitations for assault under federal law is five years. This goon must be investigated and prosecuted.

Speaker Mike Johnson just cancelled votes next week, once again putting politics above the American people.

Instead of lowering health care costs for millions of Americans, Republicans are extending their vacations while premiums are about to soar.

Like most of the Trump administration’s actions, the blatantly political misinformation from federal agencies is shameful, illegal, and a total waste of taxpayer dollars.

The latest step in Trump's Project 2025 is cancelling $7.5 billion in clean energy funds, including for a hydrogen hub in the OC. This is not only illegal, but will raise our energy prices.

Like so many of Trump’s decisions, this is both evil and stupid.

I’m horrified to hear of the deadly terror attack on a UK synagogue. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. I’m devastated to see it filled with such senseless violence. I’m praying for the victims of this tragedy.

I’ve made the decision to have my pay withheld during this government shutdown. I can't in good conscience collect a paycheck when federal employees, including members of our military, are not receiving theirs.

EV tax credits have been instrumental in reducing two of Orange County’s biggest concerns: air pollution and soaring gas prices.

Eliminating these tax credits is a severe harm to ALL Californians—making us less healthy, less environmentally safe, and raising costs for everyone.

There’s a reason why shutdowns almost always happen under Republican control–their radical agenda and refusal to work across the aisle brought us here. This is entirely on them.

30,000 families in the OC are about to lose their healthcare and thousands of scientists are set to lose their jobs due to massive cuts to research (including cancer research) at universities like UC Irvine.

I’m in DC ready to work to keep the government open, but House Republicans are on vacation.

Trump ran on an immigration platform of going after gang members and violent criminals.

Instead, he's letting drug cartels get a free pass, while ICE focuses on assaulting and deporting non-violent day laborers and DREAMers.

This is the exact opposite of America first.
