No person has an automatic right to continue in office because they have been there for so long. Although difficult, it behooves them to acknowledge their limitations, stand aside, and provide their best advice to those new leaders taking up the battle.

at a time when existing leaders would at first not even open their mouths in protest as the administration began methodically targeting and tearing down the US Constitution. At the same time the existing leaders served disrespect upon aspiring new leaders such as Kat.

ineffective tactics in response to unprecedented and overwhelming actions. At the same time, they gaslight those of us looking to them for leadership. Kat and some of her compatriots from the younger generations (and a few from the older as well!) are bringing new energy and hope. This

I too have relied on and deeply appreciate the programs you mentioned. I agree that the efforts of the past should be known and respected.

BUT I did not take disparagement from this ad. This country is in a general-alarm fire, and there are elected officials and advisors who are using

YES, A VERY GOOD THING. Useful metaphor: the house is on fire. Everyone who wants to help put it out is welcome, even the person who started it by throwing out a cigarette. In the same spirit, I won't condemn those angry at the latecomers. Anger here is understandable but counterproductive.

I think a written public case for malfeasance needs to be made explicit and endorsed by as many "good faith" lawyers, retired judges, and law professors across the nation as possible before any such measures are taken.

As bad as this sounds, what if this is partially a strategic distraction by the folks in the background, and most of the money is going to establish a "self-funding presidency"? Thus, completely eliminating reliance on Congress to appropriate funds for certain purposes? See @scott-levy.bsky.social

ActBlue is a payment processor. It does not to my knowledge solicit donations on its own.

Thank you for this response. In these times, it is tough to recall that the public is NOT powerless.

Nice article...the letter itself is a must-read. Clear, factual, damning. The positive implications of Gov-elect Spanberger's election are even greater than I had first thought.

This letter will stand as a landmark in the history of this era.

Are the Senate Democrats preparing for contingencies?
What if Trump invokes the Insurrection Act? Or disobeys a Supreme Court ruling? Or leaves office and is replaced by Vance (and his puppeteer, Thiel)?

Are you prepared? Is there a plan? Or will there simply be more strongly worded letters?

I don't pretend to understand it, but these might help inform:

1. Look into JE's intelligence connections, e.g. article by @ryangrim.bsky.social on @dropsitenews.com

2. Leverage is a more appropriate word than blackmail perhaps for now. He didn't necessarily need to formalize a quid pro quo.

The conversation is rightly focused on the President, but far more attention needs to be paid to those using him to undermine the US Constitution and the rule of law, e.g. Vought, Heritage Foundation, Thiel, and many others.

I want to be wrong, but unless I can be convinced I have no choice but to support replacing Senate leadership and will work towards that end. Please note, I do NOT equate them with the authoritarians behind the Trump Administration, but holding office is a privilege and a responsibility.

Not to minimize the impact of the closure, but you clearly fail to understand the full impact that this move had on the wider public. Senator King's public comments could not have been more foolish in this situation.

Some Senators may have felt ending the shutdown was genuinely the right thing to do but as a group you were dishonest to us. Some were also extremely condescending (e.g. Senator Durbin).
