Has anyone encountered people who insist on skipping parts of movies they otherwise enjoy? Just dealt with MiL refusing to watch the Night on Bald Mountain sequence in Fantasia, and it just feels like such an alien concept to me.

@gluesenkampperez.house.gov, my sister-in-law's family, who live in your district, are being threatened by the federal government to have her husband pay back his Army separation pay from 20 years ago "because his disability rating has increased" which was service-related. 1/2

And yet the US keeps funding this vindictive targeted murdering along with the wholesale slaughter. Been dismissed by @repdelbene.bsky.social, my Representative, with 'Israel has the right to defend itself' and all that. Is this defense?
Israel murdered this beautiful soul. Remember Fatima Hassona. Watch and spread the film "Put your soul on your hand and walk". And never stop fighting the mass murdering death machine that is the Israeli state.

She was 25.

Watching a Sylvester McCoy Doctor Who adventure and the futuristic slang they feature includes 'unalive'. They knew.

Now in theatres, the Debra Messing-produced doc "October 8" lays the blame for modern antisemitism at the feet of campus demonstrations, and in the process, endangers not only protesters (like Mahmoud Khalil) but Jewish Americans too. A real piece of shit. joysauce.com/october-8-is...
‘October 8’ is a danger to both student protesters and Jewish Americans
The Debra Messing-produced, Wendy Sachs-directed film grants permission to persecute students and pass the buck of antisemitism.

Can't say I'm surprised about how toxic this film is, but @siddhantadlakha.bsky.social digs into how odious it is in ways I would not have suspected. Ashamed to see it showing at my local AMC.

Good thing I had a live update going because that was the worst possible time for Hulu to give up on the broadcast. They really need to do better.

Finally digging into Kino Lorber's 'Cinema's First Nasty Women' collection, and it starts off with a bang. Leontine, who's real identity doesn't seem to be known, should be held in the same esteem as Keaton and Chaplin. She's a maniacal little chaos goblin who torments everyone around her.

Always fun when random people show up in movies. Watching Friday the 13th VI, and Horshack is here!

Joys of working in Utah, got to overhear a conversation about how the sex scene in Oppenheimer (which neither of these guys had seen) was completely unnecessary/explicit/over the top. Extreme violence in a historical context was fine, but not sex. Fucking absurd priorities.
