Isn't it just the same setup? A tragically deceased police officer ends up in some very specific afterlife where every crime is solvable. Aren't most cop shows like that? It would explain a lot about James Bond too if you look at it through the same lens.

*** SPOILERS ***

You have to watch the end titles of the final episode to the very end and then think about it in the context of the show you have just watched. I was gobsmacked. Can't find it online but it's probably on iPlayer / streaming.

But what connects them to Dixon of Dock Green?

Bonus points if you know the connection to these

We can fit everything we need in the back of our estate car. It doesn't need to be a massive SUV to ferry lots of stuff, indeed a lot of those things are like a reverse TARDIS.

Although paragraph 3 is largely true. I always feel rage if I have to use the self checkout. Not gonna vote Farage though.

Oh yeah. DEC maintenance prices on a terminal were almost as much as buying a new VT-compatible terminal, so that was easy. Lots of third-party maintenance companies back then for the main hardware, not that it really need much in the way of maintenance.

After the orange ones they were a really cool grey colour during the 90s, VMS 5 I think. We got the software at a 100% discount, but had to pay full price for the manuals which was a LOT..

First job was a VAX operator. Rock solid but unsexy OS. Best set of manuals I have ever seen, we had them on display because they looked so good.

The remake of Total Recall would have been much better if they'd gone back to the source story of "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" - no spoilers, seek it out.

We had them near us for a bit, they were quite polite. They'd ask people to press the button on the crossings and have to wait for the zebra crossing. Rubbish with kerbs and big puddles. Honestly a gimmick IMO. Look better with googly eyes.

Also depressing when the empty restaurant doesn't seem to have any tables available because they don't like the looks of you when you walk through the door.

It's probably about four grand that coat, so worth a few wears before taking it to the charity shop.

Of course "operated form afar" also means that it's jammable, so the next stage is to make them autonomous. And I've seen *that* movie...

I used an HP LaserJet 4 that was being chucked out of the office for years, until it needed a new fuser unit. Didn't have WiFi but did have an ethernet card and it just soldiered on. I think it had done well over 100,000 pages when I liberated it.
