Stage lights v lightning strike from a few weeks ago. Poor old tree, took the blow for all of us. Two people driving/walking from different directions found it quickly and snuffed it out. I am told the tree wasn't in the best health.

Well that might be but there are no proper names for all my dogs do, all the ways they do it, and all the bloody joy they bring. The English language just can't do them justice 😉

Poor dear tree got it at the base from a nasty storm with lots of lightening. It took half an hour for two people walking from different points to locate it/put it out. It was on the run. There were 4 strikes inside a 30km area.

Cacti are not trees but can grow as tall as very tall trees in some cases. There was so much insect activity on these flowers. This cacti was about 6 feet.

We inherited this dead tree when we bought this place 10 years ago. It is amazing how many birds of all shapes and sizes, often multiples at once, come and sit in it when there are plenty of live trees all around us. They love it. Maybe not much use to insects though. But whatever, it stays.

Handy trick for salads. Split into 2 bowls, 1 big with the "dry" iceberg, mixed lettuce leaves, cabbage, cucumber, capsicum, celery and mushrooms, and 1 small with the "wet" tomatoes, grated carrot, 4 bean mix, corn kernels, fetta, olives, onion. Mix on the plate/bowl. Can last 4 days. Chop once!
