It was like "Draw it like Bob Kane but if Bob was drawing in a style he never drew in" and Moldoff hated the job. For one thing, it took longer to pencil a page that way but no raise in pay accompanied the new marching orders. For another, Schwartz asked for way more redraws than Schiff had ever demanded on the "old look" pages. He asked Kane and then Shelly had to do them…with at least one famous exception which Julie Schwartz described once on a panel I hosted at Comic-Con… One time when Bob Kane dropped off pages, I asked him for a quick revision on one panel. Batman was punching someone and I wanted it to be a Marvel-style punch with a big fist coming right out at the reader. Bob said, "Okay, I'll take the page home and fix it and get it back to you tomorrow." By now, I knew he was going to have some assistant redo it so I decided to have a little fun with him. I said, "No, I need to send this story off to the letterer right away. Just sit down at a drawing table down the hall and redo the panel. He was turning pale. He said, "No, I need my own drawing table and my own art supplies to work." I said, "Come on. It's just one fist. The great Bob Kane should be able to knock that out in two minutes." I kept after him until he finally agreed to do it. He took the page and went off down the hall to where there were some drawing tables for artists to work at. It took a half-hour or so but he finally came back with the page and the fist was perfect. He did a real good job. I was impressed until later, I found out what happened. He sat there for twenty minutes, erasing and redrawing, erasing and redrawing. Finally, he paid Murphy Anderson ten bucks to redraw it for him.

Wow, they're just now getting around to putting Garcia in FE Heroes? Been years since I played regularly, but I would've figured they'd have had to have made everyone from the mainline games playable at this point. Art looks really good though. Kinda shocked Dozla got a unit before him.
New art of Garcia from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for Fire Emblem Heroes. He's in his standard outfit, consisting of a dark blue, leather chest plate with shoulder straps to keep it on, olive green and dark green two tone pants, light brown combat boots with dark brown soles, a reddish brown belt around his waist as well as another belt connected to that one that supports a leather pouch at his side, and a red sash tied around his hips with the knot and two flowing loose bits of fabric on his left side. Garcia himself is very muscular and lean with a broad face, large nose, small and dark eyes, a wide smile, thick eyebrows, a beard that follows the curve of his jaw and ends in a small point at his chin, and charcoal colored hair, trimmed short a neatly combed back while still looking like it has some volume. Two stray locks of hair hang down over his forehead, just above his eyes. He's standing straight with his legs slightly apart and his lead foot turned toward the viewer in a stance that seems to communicate he's ready for action. His right hand is balled into a fist and held against his waist, and his left arm is bent downward slightly with his first pointed mostly at the viewer. He's viewed at a 3/4 angle with only his left ear visible from this angle while still being able to see the rest of his face. Unfortunately, the artist for this piece is not yet publicly known to the best of my knowledge, but they are usually credited in Fire Emblem Heroes itself.

Reading New Teen Titans issue 2, and I never considered that, "humans only use 10% of their brain," myth might come up in something from the '80s. Always kind of assumed it started when I was growing up.

Would be really funny if this was just some cape comics thing that got spread around as real.

It definitely feels like someone on the dev team wanted to put a trans character into the game. Presumably "transitioning" to a flier class, having a pretty non-gender conforming style, and nearly having a trans flag as his color scheme implies a lot the game never gets into.

I don't get this gag. How is Captain Kintsugi any harder than, say, Captain America to pronounce. If it's just to show the kid's awkward growing into superhero-dom, it's and odd way to do it.

Knowing that Emboar is based on Zhang Fei's crazy ass in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, it makes a lot of sense that Pignite would just be a little freak, haha.

An assembled quick model kit of Tepig from Pokemon. Tepig is an orange pig with big, oval eyes, a curious nose, a big smile, pointy, brown rabbit-like ears, a brown section on its butt that looks k8nd of like a diaper or briefs, a coily, brown tail that ends in an orange ball, and a yellow, spade-shaped mak between its eyes. The yellow mark is a a little wrinkled because the sticker was split down the middle when I got it. I tried my best, haha.

I think this illustrates my biggest issue with Knuckles' characterization in the Knuckles series. He's got no edge. Most of the time, he just a meek, good little follower where heirarchy is concerned. Maybe it could've been the start of a good arc, but it doesn't really go anywhere in 29 issues.

Looks like it's Lara-Su, Knuckles' daughter from the future, from the Archie comics.

Behind them other Echidnas are sparing and lifting weights inf front of a tall window that shows a futuristic city with flying cars against a twilight sky. The narration boxes say, "First-The Guardian. Guardian Tower." Lara-Su is saying, "Ha! Daddy! Look!!!" Knuckles replies, "You're doing great, Lara-Su. I wasn't nearly this good at your age."

Found a copy of TMNT Challenges for a few bucks, and it's a really fun set of side stories for the Mirage era Turtles. Since it came out in 1991, they'd pretty much figured out each character's personality, so it's also a good primer on what's so appealing about old school TMNT comics.

These exaggerated affectations are cute at times, but this is a good example of why you should at least check if your phonetic spelling of a word isn't also a real word with a specific meaning. E.g. rendering Bunnie saying, "sure," with the same spelling as another word for the Holocaust.
