The "Dishwasher Salmon Problem": Recipe sites modify recipes for SEO, creating an arms race that produces worse content (yes, dishwasher salmon is real: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dishwashe…).
I built a solution: Cooklang Federation—a decentralized search for community recipes

I recently opened my fridge and found three tubs of yogurt. None bought intentionally. One had expired in 2024.
CookCLI now has Pantry Inventory. It exists so you don’t live like me.

Right, I've just read some chef's manifesto about cooking and I'm FURIOUS. Apparently I've been living a lie with my knife drawer that looks like a medieval torture chamber. This pompous git says I only need ONE good knife? I've got seventeen and can't cut butter with any of them.

1/9 Let’s talk about batch cooking.
Not the Instagrammable kind with mason jars and quinoa pyramids—real batch cooking.
Done right, it saves you money, time, and your very soul.
Done wrong, it’s fridge Tetris and tastebud despair.
Here’s how to do it properly. A thread:

Let’s talk copyright and recipes.
Yes, that thing you frantically Google after copying Nigella’s brownie formula into your blog.
Let’s break it down—like eggs, but legal.

I thought, “Today I’ll make crêpes.”
Not pancakes. Not those thick, rubbery frisbees you flip on Shrove Tuesday while the dog judges you.
CRÊPES.
The elegant, wafer-thin trousers of the dessert world.

The hardest problem in cooking isn't finding recipes or even the actual cooking. It's the clash between the ideal of perfectly planned, healthy meals and the reality of Tuesday night exhaustion. Cooklang, by making recipes truly machine-readable, offers a hope to bridge that gap.
