I have another theory,Lunar was a burden and a loser in the family because they were timid and insecure and not good at stunts and acrobatics,which is why the family of jesters thieves did not allow Lunar to participate in their performances.

It's theory time.I noticed since from the preview pages that sad one of jester family,who put ball on emerald and didn't participated in performance with family is lunar,they have same lower furr/hair shape,the covers hinting that these two are same charachter.
