Final Fantasy 14 Online is special because it's also got a super diverse community
It's very LGBTQ+ accepting and the community is actually very nice!

Ultimately I think representation like this is important because it's important to have trans characters in media that aren't just trans in name only. Having a character that portrays actual features that some/most trans women may have is very positive and something modern animes/media need more of.

There is conflict in the episode however that focuses on her being trans, but the focal point of the episode is about unfair descrimination. In response though, the episode treats being transgender as a completely normal thing, and how it doesn't/shouldn't completely define you to others.

She is from S1 E7 of the anime, and her name is Joanca
I think everything about her design perfectly nailed an example of appropriate trans representation. While the character has a sharper jawline, they're taller, and have broader shoulders, they're not made fun of for it or shamed for it.
