Maybe it’s because they know there won’t be any more Adelaide Writers’ Festivals?

You wonder what long-term damage has been done to the festival. Pressure groups, who have no stake or interest in its present or future, and a weak willed Premier, who should have been able to see the bigger picture, have driven a coach and horses through the event’s standing.

Between kids having fewer pencils and toys in the speech yesterday and abstinence from food and forced exercise today, the US is turning into North Korea, perhaps not entirely accidentally.

Aikman’s hearty laughter as Buck says “and Gillan got pounded” rounds the whole thing off perfectly.

Maybe he was always like this, but I loved Father Ted and The IT Crowd at the time. Now unwatchable for me.

He sounds like he needs to be taking a lot more vaccines. Brain is grinding in a very low gear.

Sad to see a prospectively epic episode of whataboutery cut off in its prime.

So far Australia’s biggest airline, biggest health insurer, 2nd biggest telco and largest non-bank lender have proven to have inadequate cybersecurity protection. It is time for regulatory oversight of corporate Australia’s management of its customers’ data, with powers of prosecution where needed.

Great article and my thoughts exactly. The culture which leads a business to outsource jobs to Manila- ironically the weak point in the IT security system- is the same one which doesn’t spend enough on cyber protection because every dollar spent there is a dollar not contributing to exec bonuses.
