In Vorin mythology in The Stormlight Archive series, they do get to go to the equivalent of Valhalla/the last battle because armies need food, and it’s as honorable as being a good warrior.

Druid because the aesthetic of a nature spellcaster really appeals to me. I like the hybrid nature of the class, but it’s really the theme of being a primal force that gets me.
