”this is how i went from sitting in my friend’s spare room to being invited by top level managers at EA for lunch meetings to have them listen to my workshop material. People criticize me for securing an investment with Saudi Arabia because they are jealous of success!”

The hardest part about doing this is probably justifying using my summer months to bang my head against a screen instead of just individually texturing the objects and adding some global texture variation, but I feel like this the path I want to evolve into as an artist.

So the whole workflow is something that I feel really fit me: it's only using baked data like normals, curvature, etc, and then the whole brush-stroke material is created in Unreal that gives me control to really make sure the material doesn't look like they're just the same mesh stacked.

One big struggle was the baked normals behaving as I wanted. I think I've treated normal bakings as black-box-magic for some time now, but in order to get this to work I couldn't really hide any longer, and I had to really understand normals transferring between programs. 0/10 don't not recommend.

That looks fantastic, I feel like the shades of blue quite perfectly captures the solemn Nordic winter!
