High speed rail, universal childcare, universal healthcare, affordable higher education, and quality k-12 education. Call it the plan for American Freedom and sell the hell out of the creative flexibility that it will give working Americans. Then make it happen!

I’m not the biggest fan of our 2 party system but I do like democracy. The Democratic Party has 3 years to plan their project—make it for the people.

Good reminder for U.S. academics that higher ed in Europe is under attack, and folks are fighting back.
Dutch universities go on strike - for the first time since anyone can remember. We protest the treatment and budget cuts of our extreme-right government. The strikers take turns - and Leiden university kicks off tomorrow. ✊🏼
Here is tomorrow’s program. We’re meeting at 11 a.m. at the Garenmarktplein in Leiden. The program starts at 11.30. The teach outs are throughout the day in The Hague and Leiden: www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/news/2025...

relatedly, pointing out the hypocrisy of far-right actors and expecting it to have an impact on them is a complete fool’s errand. they know! the obvious hypocrisies are their way to project raw power over the very idea of truth/falsity and shouting HYPOCRISY to the world isn’t gonna cut it in 2025
European leaders, much like top Democrats, seem to think that the key to getting Vance and the Trump administration to take them seriously is to keep sternly repeating that “this is not acceptable behavior from allies.”

As if they care.

Went for a ride outside today. Saw a lot of deer, great blue heron, and a hawk. I might have also made rude gestures at a Tesla that passed me close. Teslas have a huge ass screen that tells them when there are people around the vehicle. SMH
