@jimbennett.bsky.social You know the typical things people say, he was offended, they were an intellectual, they weren't strong enough to resist Satan. These tropes are only hurting the church. I thought I'd make my way back after getting healthy but just felt pushed away when I talked with leaders.

@jimbennett.bsky.social I stopped attending about 15 years ago because of severe medical issues but my ward assigned me a stereotypical reason for not going. I think it's why no one reached out to me unless they had to for their callings.

@jimbennett.bsky.social you should do an episode on the stereotypes TBMs assign to those who stop coming and how those hurt the church.
