8/ Furthermore, collaborating on open-source software is in our DNA and we believe the efforts from the @solana ecosystem last week to quickly address these vulnerabilities show the power of building together in the open.

7/ In the spirit of OSS, we want to highlight Faremeter contributors @SplatterSOL, who discovered and fixed the vulnerabilities, and @alxndrguy, who reviewed and led deployment across the @faremeterxyz ecosystem. Thanks to their work this was able to be responsibly patched.

6/ At Corbits, security is at the top of our agenda. Our team has a track record of shipping mission-critical software across various industries.

We take the software we ship seriously and always follow industry best practices when we are not busy creating them.

5/ Unfortunately a bad actor also discovered the rent exploit and was able to extract ~34 SOL from three Solana facilitators. No users were affected.

We are happy to report no facilitators running @faremeterxyz suffered a loss of funds and are all patched.

4/ Thanks to efforts from the @SolanaFndn for coordinating amongst existing facilitators and @CoinbaseDev for moving to get a fix PR into Coinbase's implementation officially merged on October 29th.

3/ We quickly developed a solution, tested the attack vectors, and pushed a patch to facilitators running @faremeterxyz.

In minutes, we reached out to @CoinbaseDev and @SolanaFndn with a fix for existing facilitators.

2/ After review, we found Solana facilitators were susceptible to two forms of attack:

- Transfer of tokens from facilitator wallets

- Rent based attacks

Both deemed critical due to their ability to drain facilitators and impact service.
