I also think crypto and gambling businesses are in a way an attempt to keep the money in the US. In a way they are competing with scam compounds.

In addition to the scamming, engaging/divisive videos for views are more valuable if the viewers are in the US. It's valuable for plenty of Americans too but there's a long tail of producets of content in other countries.
