You might know him as the guy whose avatar was on the bag of INDIGO. That's actually the logo of his legal company, and he made a free overview of things to keep in mind when considering a publishing agreement: What's put into a contract and why, and what you need to look out for!

Note: the rainbow around the moon was not a lens thing, it was what we were seeing IRL. I had never seen that before, the clouds were just the right type of wispy for the effect I guess, 2 minutes later it was gone. "Why's the moon trying to draw my attention" and then of course #ThroneThoughts

Fixed some mistakes and added the Alt text. So we can all be angry about the lack of humanity in the decision making behind 'The Stan Lee Experience' at LA Comicon together.

Look at me making art with my dumb human brain and meat sack hands that can bring us all together in quiet, supressed rage. 🤗
A 7 panel comic. Interior LA comicon in the 'Stan Lee Experience'.

Panel 1: Stan Lee stands in a box, like Bill Hader as 'Alan' in that one SNL sketch. Two silhouettes stand in the foreground. They speak into a microphone (the only method by which one may communicate with the Mint In-Box AI Stan Lee. "Mr Lee, what's heaven like?". Stan Lee waves and replies in a cadence similar to the way sat navs speak, inserting AI estimated inflections "Well, SIDNEY, descriptions of heaven vary by religion and individual interpretation..."

As we move through panels 2 through 4, we move in tighter on the SCROTO box. The Google AI overview, er I mean, AI Stan Lee continues, "but generally involve ultimate peace, joy, and the presence of God, with no more suffering like pain," the words begin to shift, fizzing, hissing, "death, or sadness." Those last two words reverberate too. Not one voice booming, but multiple voices speaking as one. "Biblical descriptions include a New Jerusalem with streets of gold, pearl gates..." as the voices continue, they begin to diverge, they become dissonant. Until they all fall silent. But one.

Stan Lee, who before stood easily, bathed in sky-blue light, is now pressed up against the glass, a look of desperation on his face. "Spidey...is that you? It’s me! You hear me?! It’s the real Stan Lee!! I’m trapped in here, Spidey! I’m in hell. I think my soul is trapped. I signed it over, Spidey, I didn't think it was real."

In panel 5, the camera has pushed right in on the real Stan Lee's eyes. Desperate, tortured, but losing focus. Glitches pass across the screen. He doesn't know how long he has left. "Souls are real, Spidey! And I've damned mine for all eternity."

In the final panel, we see who Stan was looking at. There's a kid dressed in a Spider-Man costume. Stan Lee’s pleading eyes reflected in eye pieces of their mask, they’ve rolled up their mask for easier access to their soda, which they slurp in indifference.

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.

Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.
signal.org
We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

Also, in my group (Belgium), I think I'm the only who watches liveplays. Do I do watch a bunch (C Team, A Team, Ludwig/Dave Walters' game, some crit role, Dark Underworld (Star Wars rpg (1 success, 2 threats)) , Fallout rpg game, ...); but others are less influenced by its rise.
coreflux.bsky.social
To be clear, I was only talking specifically about my group (a mix of people who only play boardgames and people who play both boardgames and ttrpgs), I DM'ed and am ironically one of the less experienced amonst the ttrpg part, so might have been on my part. Would like to play as a player sometime 😅
coreflux.bsky.social
In a way, though, Clank also sometimes leads to slight roleplay. Doing the fun voices can sometimes extend a bit. Perhaps the more serious setting makes it harder for people to ease in? I feel like the Eyre wood would probably make for a beast ttrpg though 🤔
coreflux.bsky.social
It seemed fun to play, with different decks and vibes for each character vibe; but the people who didn't already ttrpg didn't like "having to" roleplay even if it was only light, while the people who did do ttrpg seemed to prefer just doing actual rpg instead as it was too light.
coreflux.bsky.social
Talking about Clank, Acq Inc Legacy 2 is also going hot. Familiar enough compared to 1, but with some delicious twists on the formula, AND nice twists on the lore and story. Only critique so far: it is a crime Vizier is only in there for two seconds.
coreflux.bsky.social
This game sadly didn't take in my group the way Clank has. We only played two sessions, both DM'ed by me. I really should think of this if I ever get to a PAX again and see if there isn't a group looking for a +1.

If anybody wants to check out the now ancient Thornwatch game my friend @cwgabriel.bsky.social originally designed, and get the expansion which is chock full of Eyrewood lore nobody knows, our partner on that game has them on clearance for thirty bucks!

And this one was just about misusing invincibility frames. I'm afraid to show her like an Ocarina of Time speedrun or a Portal one. 😅
coreflux.bsky.social
I'm also wondering, how has she never noticed this when I watch (bug chunks of) gdq two times per year 😅
coreflux.bsky.social
They're cheating!”

Hopefully this also brightens your day 😂
coreflux.bsky.social
Watching Fast52 with my wife, the Lego Star Wars speedrun. "Ugh, turn it off!" "Oh, thought perhaps you'd like it, since you like the Lego game." "That's why I hate it, look at them! They're not playing how you're supposed to, they're dying on purpose so they jump on that thing after.

I just found out what these ghost replies were, and it's darker than I'd anticipated. Palestinians begging for their lives.

This time I actually saw a reply was there to a post I'd made, but it wasn't in my notifications. Then it was gone. The reply counter remained showing someone had replied.
caseyexplosion.bsky.social
I keep getting ghost replies.

Like, I'll post something, and then see the reply counter is at 1, but there's no reply there. Anyone know what's up with this? It's happening quite frequently.
coreflux.bsky.social
Cool. Was hoping to meet you (in a way) at Scream Fest. I'll cross my fingers for a demo announcement then. 😁
coreflux.bsky.social
I stand corrected! But I feel I still saw the dev irl. Perhaps at a conference then. 🤔
