The project is part of the NERC @redalertcdt.bsky.social , which brings together biologists, chemists, and engineers across academia, government, and the private sector to train the next generation of scientists working to protect animal, human, and environmental health.

In collaboration with @ukceh.bsky.social and @cefasgovuk.bsky.social , the project will explore quantitative imaging approaches like the PlanktoScope (see image) and how they can support more conventional, sequence-based biodiversity assessments (i.e., metabarcoding).
