I like your Lodolo and Bubic picks and I'm glad the pod is coming around that even though the Reds have GABP, their pitchers manage to navigate it quite well. The org/DJ are doing a great job.

Not fond of the Burleson addition mainly because I think the Cardinals lineup is going to slide back.

Nice, well written, researched article. I agree with most of what you wrote and its hard to argue against your points on Strider but its just so hard to believe that with more time for proper healing and offseason to retool, that he actually may be a sleeper. Hopefully not the next Tim Lincecum.

This is not the flex you think it is. Congrats to Richards though

Cincy could use him back on the cheap

Any ETA on ATC projections?

6/186 is my guess - somebody will give it to him. Now that he has stabilized his batting profile somewhat, his superior defense is not to be undervalued.

As a Reds fan, sadly I care more than I should/want to because it feels like every dollar matters.

Your wink has been noted. I've read the piece, see the acknowledgment of defense and you did an excellent job breaking it down. I'm on board with your analysis. Nice job!

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in him either for the reasons you mention but at minimum doesn't the defensive upgrade notch him up a bit?

Richard Schiff - Toby Ziegler
Bradley Whitford - Joshua Lyman
Allison Janney - CJ Cregg

I like the leftovers but The West Wing simply takes the cake for me.

Great show but I feel there was perhaps a missed opportunity to expand on why those who knew Garfield felt he was so great as it would have created more connection with loss, missed historical opportunity.

Like
* Hunter Greene getting love finally
* Kyle Bradish!

Struggle With
* Sheehan close to Ohtani/Glasnow. All have injury risk but Sheehan also has demotion risk
* McLean way over Gray. Gray routinely hits his upside. McLean’s ceiling I’m not sure is any better/likelier and he has demotion risk

#Reds - trade for Castellanos cheaply, put him in LF. Lux projected starting LF so improvement there. Castellanos bad defensively but so is Lux. Castellanos previously excelled in GABP/Cincy. Short term commitment with opportunity for cleaner payroll/big expenditure replacement next year then.

He's a mercurial personality but as a Reds fan, I remember him fondly from his time on the team. I think he just wants regular playing time and will do so for any team willing to offer it. There are too many teams that routinely pick up players like him to say its over.
December 15, 2025 at 6:08 PM
If the goal is to trade Castellanos, I think many of the reasons to trade him would also apply to Garcia, unless there are clubhouse reasons.

It seems to me they should have tried for a more defensive minded outfielder with offensive upside or an offensive minded outfielder who is at least younger.

Tehran to get ready for season 3 and Meet Me in St. Louis because you have to at this time of season.

If you want an intellectual study on the Civil War, also watch The Great Courses Signature Collection lecture series on it. The professor provides an important counterpoint to Shelby Foote's controversial "The Lost Cause" theory featured by Burns. Burns is good but controversial featuring Foote.

Weirdly - The original Total Recall when the one female character wins a fight against the Sharon Stone character and the audience cheered. It seems such a strange movie to get such a strong audience reaction which I haven't seen in what would be other similar or much better expected scenarios.

1. Love them all fairly equally but if forced, would actually go 1, 2, 3 in that order. It's like picking your favorite kid though. You can have a favorite in the moment but it can change.

2. Something about Arwen's horse run across the river and then the spell gets me every time.

If only there was a show called ExtraTime where we could get some shoulder programming to get key takes. I think @mattdoyle.bsky.social and @andrew-wiebe.bsky.social would be the perfect hosts.

Doyle does write some good stuff so I'm always thankful for his reads.

That Andrew Friedman quote really made me think of my own perceptions on free agents and the more I think about it the more I realize he's right. It's very hard to think of a signing I would feel comfortable with ever but this has to be it. No more next year...
