Mike, do you have some routines / exercises to protect your voice?

Singing a few songs in a busy pub and I’m hoarse for a few days.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Mike, you might send this pic to the guy on the merch stand. I told him last night I had a different use in mind for the belt buckle 👌

Mike,
I bought this after completing a Camino last year. Something similar with the waves logo would be cool and would probably sell very well at shows.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Hi Mike, is it possible that more Irish shows get added to next years Fisherman’s Blues shows? Maybe Cork Opera house? The Dublin show is a definite overnight for us, so means getting fleeced for hotel!
See you in Alicante next week 😊

@mickpuck.bsky.social Mike, I just a clip of Medicine Bow from Oslo. Do you do anything special to look after your voice? I’m almost hoarse from just listening to it.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Mike, my brother sent me a few videos from NY gig. He loved it, said ye were brilliant. Last time he saw you was in Tramore 2001 with me.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Hi Mike, I was playing in a session tonight in Dungarvan, Waterford.
There was an English couple there requesting Waterboys songs. I was thinking, ye are knocking on open door. They were at Brighton gig a few weeks ago.

Mike,
Any reason they didn't use The Waterboys version?
Other songs in series are by original artists - Thin Lizzy, Blondie.

@mickpuck.bsky.social For anyone travelling around Ireland, here's a tip. While parked at Salt hill prom, if you play the Fisherman's Blues album it will get you all the way to the Clare border. We did this today, perfect. An absolute masterpiece.

@mickpuck.bsky.social The last time we were in Galway was Arts festival in 2001. We saw The Waterboys about 6 times in 3 days.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Mike, I love Fisherman's blues. But, was it absolutely necessary to skip the 4th chord following the woo hoo hoo in first two verses?!
I play the song a lot at sessions in D (drop D 👌).

@mickpuck.bsky.social I can think of a great song to go with this pic

@mickpuck.bsky.social I was at local traditional session last night. During a set of tunes the box player started playing kings of Kerry. Did you add the "oh diddly I da do" part? I started singing along, I got a "look". It was a look with a smile though.

@blindboyboatclub.bsky.social Hi Blindboy, the story about the lad w@nking on his bed and his mother left tea and biscuits. I heard that in the 90's on an English TV comedy sketch show called the Mary Whitehouse experience. Two of the presenters were David Baddiel and Hugh Dennis.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Mike I play (guitar)at a local session with a couple of box players. Every so often they'd break into Calliope House. What chords did you put to that?
Thanks
