My parents are away tonight. I lived by myself in Vancouver for over 30 years, yet I’m nervous about being alone tonight. I have Roy, but he’s not much support. Fingers crossed everything is ok!

Feeling so homesick lately. Even though Vancouver isn't my home anymore. I do really like it here, but I am feeling lonely and like my Vancouver friends have all forgotten about me. Or most of them. But this is also a tough time of year, so I should probably not be so hard on myself.

My dad likes cheesy Christmas movies! We've been watching them together this year. Last night HE picked Our Little Secret with Lindsay Lohan. I had already seen it, but he liked it! Not enough space to list the others we've watched, but it's nice to watch them with him!

After seeing multiple people in Vancouver for help with my back, none of which worked, I tried the small-town chiropractor in Invermere because I had tweaked my neck and needed it adjusted. Anyway, he seems to be helping my back, which is funny after all the people I tried in Vancouver.

I'm just minding my business, trying to walk home for lunch, but I had to go about five extra meters to give them some space. At the same time, this is not zoomed in; this is life here. 💚 Sometimes it’s deer, not sheep! 😆

Today, right before I was to leave for work, Roy had a shit explosion of monumental proportions. It was on the carpet, on the wall, all over the outside of the litter box, all over his food bag, ALL OVER MY SHEETS, AND all over his back paw! He must have shit on it and just shook it off. 🤦♀️

Last night, I came out of the shower, and Roy had jumped the gate by himself for the first time and was hanging out upstairs. He came back into the room with me, and when I had to leave again, he jumped the gate again! This is massive progress.

Drove us up to Banff today (only almost killed us once) to hit up Mountain Warehouse to buy a proper winter coat and boots.

Roy update! He is doing great! I’m so impressed and surprised. He actually seems happier here! I bring him downstairs over the baby gate once a day and let him explore. The dog is also being really good with him, and Roy hasn’t smacked him. Proud of my furry little buddy!!

I ended up with multiple job offers. So I ended up taking something different. It's a little bit more money and a lot closer to home. I won’t have to buy a vehicle right away. I’m exhausted from that job hunt. That was a lot, even though I got some offers right away.
