Every time a friend sings Alanis Morissette at karaoke I make a comment about her being God and get funny looks. Then I say “Dogma?” and can tell I’m the only one that knows… Such a great movie. Enjoy

Not speaking on chief’s heart, but I’m tired of all these official speeches prefacing the important part with a complete bullshit “no problem if [ICE does] what they’re supposed to do.” They’re not. Stop speaking like they are or plan to change their course. Tell us your next steps or shut it.

I think it’s fair to hate ‘em. Guess I just see it as hating a whole cover band rather than just a song cover. But also hard for me to hate ‘em cause they just seemed to be having some fun with it.

I’ll check that one out later today. Thanks

Booooo. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes made fun covers in a specific genre, they were a cover band, not something meant to be held to the same standard as an individual artist’s cover.

Seconded. It’s the best.

Couldn’t agree more. That straight line passes through the Civil War, Jim Crow laws, the KKK, Dixiecrats, etc. etc.. At what point do we stop tolerating such policies and rhetoric?

I understand this take on Requiem, and I’m concerned with how often I watched it in my formative college years. Definitely a work of art. Definitely disturbing.

I keep seeing Requiem listed and wonder what sort of phase I was in and the effect that movie must’ve had on me to have watched it multiple times a year.

Oh yes! One of mine as well. I remember my sister sobbing on the couch, crying “Why did we pick this movie?!?”

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti monster getting mentioned always gives me great thrill. Went out on a limb for a college essay and researched all their stuff. Just a great organization to bring us a little closer to logic.

Nice! Just got into the show in the past 2 years. Love it. Was bummed it was so short, but that made it easier to prep for a new season!

Yeah, but all the IP for a kid named Will missing from some haunted town will possibly soon be owned by the same company…

I told my parents if they feel they have trouble, don’t worry: everyone does. These companies aren’t trying to make it easier for you. They’re trying to make you so tired and frustrated with looking for what you want that you settle for what they show you. And that’s money in their pockets.

I rarely venture outside of HBO Max or Apple+ anymore, but Netflix and Prime feels increasingly more that way, especially when I go months without using them.
December 2, 2025 at 3:01 AM
I was just explaining this to my parents the other day when they complained about all their recommended movies now being rentals. You’ll notice it most everywhere. The recommended section is no longer to make it easy but to generate a profit. New company movies/shows take precedence.

Right?!? Oh no, a football player left their designated little box and stepped into the other little boxed area with pure joy in his eyes. He interrupted absolutely nothing, so now we punish his entire team!
December 2, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Precisely this. Friends telling me there have been so many close games every week. No shit, every time a team starts to pull away the refs start making big plays to keep it close. Can’t imagine why that might be… *gets blasted with 10 straight commercials for gambling sites*

What a well-spoken group of people with pride in the industry and admiration of the turkey. And the minions mentioned! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
