It took a few years of counselling to get to the point where I didn't laugh, with awkwardness I think, when she said to me, be kind to yourself. I guess she could see me through her lens, but I used to think what a daft thing to say to me... Until the penny dropped 🤍

I totally get this. I'm the same with a certain standup comedian whose name, within one letter closely resemblesy abuser, which is an instant channel change 🫂

All I can say is, if you're a #CSASurvivor, it's never too late. I kept everything to myself and stayed quiet for 35 years and only now am starting to unpick the trauma... Seek help and support and make that first step. 🫂

The conversations I've managed to extract from my inner self during my counselling sessions have allowed me to understand me more, and hopefully have given me an awareness for better self help. Thanks (A) for everything and most of all thanks to Mrs L for guiding and supporting me along the way. 2/

I found his comments where he expressed forgiveness absolutely sickening! Good riddance to him. He should also be feeling a sense of shame.

And what I mean by that is, what's the underlying cause for this... Something that seems peculiarly unique to our country and not like-minded Western Nations?
