I mean, I love it but I think of it like a freshman college weed-out course. like "okay you're here, now show me how much you REALLY want to read the Silmarillion"
and then once you get past it the rest is... much easier

Totally, plus I wonder how many people quit on the first chapter and assume the rest of it is the same style. That's the only part that I would call a challenging read but it hits you right out the gate

I really enjoyed the movie, but the ending threw me. like no Victor does not get to just break the cycle and be forgiven so we feel better about it, I want to feel the sadness and cruelty of it without a little uplifting lesson at the end
