Because we were once a country of Hope and opportunity. When I was growing up this used to be played at July 4th celebrations.

I bet it isn't now.

Putin says he will stick to 'principles' discussed with Trump in talks on Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin said he views his Aug. 15 meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska positively. According to him, Russia will rely on the “principles” discussed in Anchorage to “settle the conflict” in Ukraine. Putin spoke about the outcome of the August summit in Alaska during a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Tajikistan on Oct. 10. His remarks were published by the Russian propagandist news agency TASS. Putin said he generally has a positive assessment of the summit in Anchorage and will brief CIS colleagues about it “in a small circle.” “Without a doubt, we are basing our further work to resolve the conflict in Ukraine on the fundamental principles we discussed in Alaska,” the Russian dictator said. At the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said starting the “homework” to organize a high-level meeting to end the war in Ukraine is allegedly impossible due to “no response from Kyiv to Russia’s proposals.” Putin and Trump met in Alaska on Aug. 15. After the summit, the Russian president called the talks “useful and substantive” and said the war would not have started if Trump had been U.S. president at the time. Trump, for his part, said they were unable to reach agreements on Ukraine but also called the meeting “productive.” On Sept. 18, Donald Trump criticized the Russian leader and said Vladimir Putin had let him down. After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sept. 23, Donald Trump said his relationship with Vladimir Putin “meant nothing” and did not help end the war. The American president called Russia a “paper tiger,” pointed to the difficult state of the Russian economy and said it was “time for Ukraine to act.” As a reminder, on Oct. 9, media reported that Tajikistan ignored the ICC warrant requiring the arrest of Vladimir Putin.
