This app is fantastic: https://apps.apple.com/app/6475023019

It pulls every video from your photos app, then arranges them by year and subject with a retro VCR interface.

Instantly I was transported to a family trip in 2007 with my then two year old walking around San Diego.

Holy crap what a […]

The Containerization framework enables developers to create, download, or run Linux container images directly on Mac. It’s built on an open-source framework optimized for Apple silicon and provides secure isolation between container images.”

Is this a bug on my end, or some new […]

Partner’s niece at wedding (5yo): “did you eat something on the table already?”
Me: “no?”
Niece: “Why is that only half a plate?”
Me: “it’s called ‘plating’, it’s so it looks good”
Niece: “I think it would look better with a full plate”

Look kid you’re not wrong […]

Back when I was poking around with filesystem fuzzing stuff years back, I noticed something odd:

An EXT filesystem can tell the Linux OS how it should behave "if" the filesystem is corrupt, including triggering a kernel panic. In a world where USB thumb drives exist, this seems... not ideal […]

The more I read about the Patreon/Apple thing, the more it appears that Apple foolishly opened a door with their App Store policies and Patreon is exploiting it for their own ends.

Patreon is pretty clearly using this as an excuse to make every hostile change they want, while they can blame it […]

Absolutely incredible to see AT&T twist their breach into somehow being a “Snowflake breach”, and folks like @arstechnica are accepting it as is.

AT&T controls how their Snowflake is configured, including the security of their data… Letting them reframe this as Snowflake's fault in entirety […]
