🗿🇹🇷 En Karahantepe, Turquía, se ha descubierto un obelisco con forma de T con rostro humano de 12.000 años.
Es la primera vez que se encuentran rasgos faciales completos en un monolito neolítico.

A Global Sumud Flotilla activist:

This is the first biggest trip of the flotilla, but there will be more.

We will not stop until Palestine is free.

🛤️The typical landscape of the Phrygian Way: wheel tracks carved into the rock, the result of centuries of passage, from the time of the Phrygians (13th–8th centuries BCE) to the Roman period and even the early Byzantine era.

And btw, it’s called that because it was once believed to belong to Alexander the Great, but it actually belonged to Abdalonymus, king of Sidon (4th century BC). It was brought to Istanbul by Osman Hamdi Bey (1842–1910), a brilliant painter, archaeologist, and founder of Ottoman museology.

🏛️ Museums in Istanbul are open until 10 PM every day until October 1st.

Last night I took a nighttime stroll through the Archaeological Museum and spent some quality time alone admiring the Alexander Sarcophagus (312 BC).

📚We don’t have many books about Turkey in Spanish, so it’s a real pleasure to see an intimate and powerful story about migration, uprooting, and identity, from Anatolia to Germany, published in my mother tongue.
“Our German Fairy Tale”, by Dinçer Güçyeter.
Looking forward to reading it!

Lots of symbolism in Turkey's protest today

*In a gov-imposed blackout, huge student-heavy crowd illuminates the square
*The square, a historical site of anti-fascist resistance, fronts the university that revoked İmamoğlu's degree
*Yesterday = anniversary of three leftist youth leaders' execution
