I used to read videogame and film magazines as a kid (well, still do 😁) and they'd use the word genre a lot. I always said it as jeneer in my head.

Eg the bus cap was originally a Conservative policy. And the cap then rose under Labour by 50%. Are we to supposed to applaud them because at least they didn't scrap it completely 🙄

Texting took off massively in the UK cos people didn't even want to talk to the people they knew when they could quickly write something. Even when they had to pay for every single message. The idea we'd voluntarily chat to our PCs doesn't understand what people are actually like.

If she's campaigning on changing the law to make something illegal then financially benefitting from the it at the same time is a bad look. As the housing minister it's even worse. Will you still be defending her if and when she resigns?

Look at the issue of electric scooters. Bane of my life as a pedestrian walking to work. On the roads, no doubt they're frustrating for drivers too. Not legal anywhere except private land. Yet they're legally sold on the high street, with an appropriate warning that's roundly ignored.
