I remember there being a very similar series of sets called aqua raiders, was my favourite series along with space police and power miners. Feels like they'd all make great factions in a setting together.

Absolutely, the game was always better when it was balanced for fun, you could do dumb shit like 3 stack torbs, a bastion, Reinhardt and mercy for a stupid moving weapons platform (until dva nukes you). That game was so fucking fun but blizzard just destroyed it. Seems like a lot of games
