I’ve started thinking about the tremendous energy required to make the fleeting entertainments of AI videos, a partial reason for rising electrical costs. How far do we allow this to proceed before it hurts the community at large? Must we choose freedom of expression over freedom from want?

A few weeks back the New York Times put out a call for readers to write in about their unusual Christmas traditions. I gave it a try and, lo and behold, I got in the story. The writer, Amelia Pisapia, did a wonderful job. 🧪
