Very glad to see you here. I've gone cold turkey on all US news after you-know-what (I'm British so I have that luxury) but I do miss you and thank you for the work you have done for the last 8 or 9 years. All the very best in the future. One day, I will be brave enough to listen to you again.

This is a very wise post.

Why didn’t they print them one-sided? Was the cost saving so high? I couldn’t bring myself to ruin the comic.

My grandmother knitted me one in apricot and white. I cringe at the memory.

They’d run out of maps last time I went (covid lockdown walking) and I didn’t think of googling on my phone. Did find either Alcock or Brown (can’t remember which!) on my way round, though. Small toy biplane left as tribute. Sweet.

I have a new pair of mittens. How bad would it be to put them on a string? How bad really?

Goodness me, how very wholesome!

We all will, unless we get very lucky.

Pretty much an all-purpose craft substance.

Mod Podge?

I’ve used spray starch but it was a long time ago. I used to have some matte finish PVA varnish. Maybe try something like that?

Spray starch?

Thank you! I will give it a try next time. My trouble is being unable to follow directions and read maps… Lowry is on the end of a row near a path and the grave has pots of paintbrushes instead of flowers. His name is on the side of his parents’ headstone iirc.

We've heard it.

I am such a fan of Harry Clarke.

I live about a mile from the cemetery where this is. I've wandered round it twice, trying to find this, and failed. Found LS Lowry, though.

Wasn't it a great show?
November 16, 2024 at 7:42 PM
Oh, that’s undoubtedly true, but I just came to prefer the character story arc over the sword and sorcery spoof. That’s just my preference.

Terry P is my guilty pleasure, but the early stuff isn't the best of his work imho. I guess you have to start at the beginning to get the build up and understand the way Discworld works, but the later stuff is much more fully realised and funnier. (My opinion, anyway.)

You're hero enough already.

Should have mentioned that it stands for Memorial Device Alternative National Treasure.
