Day 2 of my 10 day holiday

Off to watch my hapless football team attempt to win a match.

Then later will keep the rage virus raging by watching 28 Years Later to refresh my memory for when I go watch the Bone Temple (finally) next week

🎥A time capsule that’s equal parts charming and uncomfortable. Being forgotten on your birthday is such a small problem, but at 16 it feels like the universe has snubbed you. Hughes nails the scale of it all: everything is embarrassing, everything matters, and no one seems to notice but you. 🎂🎈

Mrs Couch Potato has caught the John Hughes bug... So we're going to watch Sixteen Candles, apparently she's never seen it
January 23, 2026 at 8:58 PM
🎥 The "lost" Hughes movie that functions as a poignant meditation on wanting a life more than actually living one. It’s ultimately let down by a weak ending and the fact that Jennifer Connelly is framed as a mere object of desire rather than a real person. 🛒🛼

🎬Far more than just an 80s rom-com; it’s a stylish, quietly sad exploration of the class divide told through hallway politics and synth-pop. A bittersweet coming-of-age story wrapped up in a perfect pink bow. 🎀🎷

The #Oscars nominations dropped today. I couldn’t care less.

Movies should be judged by audiences, not by marketing budgets, campaigns, and quiet backroom deals.

A low-budget virus that effectively rewired the genre and my brain. When the rats start running and the humans get savage, you realize the "infected" aren't the only monsters here. 🏚️🧟‍♂️

📺If you’re a fan of the annual Harlan Coben Netflix tradition, you know exactly what you’re getting here. It’s a rollercoaster of twists, turns, and gaping plot holes that somehow stays on the tracks.

🎥📄I've got some annual leave to use up, so I have the end of January off. Which of course means I will be working on ticking some stuff off my watchlist.

Does anyone have anything that I should be adding to my watchlist to fill the void?
January 18, 2026 at 3:34 PM
Added to my watchlist.

This is one of the few John Hughes films that I haven't seen and my local community cinema is showing this Friday and because I am a member, I can see this for £1... How bad can it be?

I've either seen this and forgotten or I have never seen it before for whatever reason.

What do you guys think, is this a good decision, or should I be making better life choices?
