Two things can be true at the same time. We can have to many people on a finite planet with finite resources. And there can also be people that use that fact to propose awful “solutions.” In comparison, Planed Parenthood was originally a eugenicist project to get rid of black people.

But even in nazi Germany, liberals failed in their effectiveness. Europe eventually became social democrats which borrowed from socialist ideas while retaining capitalism. I would include that in “the left,” at least here in America.

When I talk about liberalism, I’m talking about the liberalism that’s prevalent right now. There’s also the “liberal world order,” which is a phase people still use when they’re talking about international law and the other things you mentioned.

Hank embodies the best of what liberalism does which is pragmatism and administration. But liberal politicians and the voters that enable them in the primaries haven’t been pointing those abilities in the right direction for decades now.

Liberalism is laissez faire capitalism except the government props up businesses that would fail without bailouts. It tinkers around the edges instead of solving problems.

They embody the problems with liberal politicians and the democratic party machine in our country. Liberal voters don’t punish these politicians in the primaries. Sometimes it excused as an “electability” issue. Often they just agree with them.

Liberal and left voters are a lot closer right now, and liberal voters deserve a lot of credit for non electoral political activism. Maybe more than leftists.
January 14, 2026 at 2:45 AM
The biggest difference between liberals and leftists is that left wing politicians are at the very least rhetorically trying to fight the right while liberals are doing nothing. AOC and Mamdani vs Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. The core of liberal ideology is politically ineffective.

I don’t think shrinking as a species is a bad thing in itself. We have too many people. The problem is we’re projected to shrink too fast. It messes with the age distribution which causes economic problems and ethical issues surrounding reproduction and the elderly.

It’s not filling, but it is nutritious. It’s a ridiculous thing to put on a plate as a meal for someone hungry though.

I make enough for more than one recipe rather than cooking it more than once a day. I just cook more. Like more than you can eat in one sitting.

Leftover bacon is when you make bacon for breakfast, then you save some for things like BLTs, bacon bits, and other recipes.

Why not just break it up into two movies? Then again people said Wicked for good could have been one movie.

He’s half right. The body makes snot. Dust, dirt, and other particulates get into the nose and combine with snot to make boogers.

Just looked into it a bit more. I guess the problem is that plug ins are often company cars. So no one has an incentive to plug them in. People in the uk specifically don’t usually drive farther than an hour away anyway, so for the uk at least traditional EV and their range should be the best deal.

Panda Express would be really great if they could fix their chow mien. It’s chewy. Orange chicken is OP though.

I’ve heard that Europeans are having problems with plug ins. I don’t know why. No problems here. One of the issues I heard about is that they’re not plugged them in for some reason. Are home chargers an issue there?
January 9, 2026 at 11:56 PM
We use the hybrid plug in for driving out of town. We almost never use gas. Twice since we got it a couple years ago. But it’s good to have the security.
January 9, 2026 at 9:35 PM
It depends a lot on the area and if the chargers on the map are actually working or not. I’ve had close calls where I barely mad it to a charger. Or I had to wait over an hour just to start charging because only one out of a whole line of chargers was working.
January 9, 2026 at 9:34 PM
I had to beg someone nearby to use their private charger. A hotel I wasn’t booked with. Luckily they took pity. Now we have an EV and a plug in hybrid we use for out of town. We almost never use gas, but it’s good to have that security.

Different people have different experiences, I guess. There have been times where I’ve driven to the beach a few hours away, and there would be a whole row of chargers broken except one. Long line. Waited an hour. Thought there’s one at my destination. I can barely make it. That one wasn’t available
January 9, 2026 at 9:28 PM
A big problem is that often times there’s problems with charger availability. Broken, vandalized, long lines, or even none in an area.

Plug-in hybrids solve this problem though. And Chinese 5 minute quick chargers would help a lot.

It looks a little under done for my taste. I like the medium rare to medium range. Beautiful sear though.
