I never understood the “I was abused and I turned out ‘fine’, so you should be abused too” mantra. I wouldn’t want anyone to be abused the way I was for being AuDHD in a neurotypical household. Even though I turned out “fine”, that doesn’t mean that treatment should be perpetuated.

During the diagnostic process, my mom (who previously told me she thought I was autistic) asked me why I thought I was autistic so I told her. When I described symptoms she could relate to (she’s adamant that she’s not on the spectrum too) she said “well I think your dad was more autistic than you”🙄

Agreed! Tim Powers was my writing teacher in high school and he frequently told us that writer’s block is just when the writing engine and the editing engine are on at the same time. Turn off the editing engine and just write!

My now wife was the first person my scaredy cat ever warmed up to. He was terrified of my ex and hid from all my friends and loved ones. The moment he met her, he warmed up instantly and now he cuddles with her and not even with me anymore!

Women can never win. We were reprimanded for displaying “inappropriate” symptoms of autism when we were kids, so we start masking to get by. Now we’re told we can’t be autistic because we’re masking so well. We’re either too much or not enough and will never fit the NT’s idea of autism.

I have a library card so I use Libby! I have always wanted physical books, so it took me a while to get used to reading in my phone but I love it! I was spending $100/month on books at the bare minimum and now I read everything for free.

Me too! Papa looks so gruff but I bet he’s a total sweetheart. Here is Petey now. His FIV caused stomatitis and his teeth were being reabsorbed so he had every tooth removed. He is happy as a clam and cuddly as a baby now!

I did the same thing yesterday. We spend thousands per year at Amazon. I buy all of my skincare products, household items, clothes, books, vitamins, pet products, basically everything on Amazon. So we are currently figuring out how to get our stuff elsewhere. We’re not worried. We’ll figure it out.

Canceled my prime membership and prime music membership today! Feels great. Also deleted my Target and Walmart apps. We do 99% of ALL of our shopping between those 3, so it will be a big adjustment for us but it’s worth it. Fuck those places.

I’ve passed by Heavenly a few times and always wanted to try it! I’ll go next time I’m in the area.
