I really don't remember what I did before growing dahlias, but they are my saving grace for so many reasons.

Happy Spring!

Here are some Snapdragon and Verbascum seedlings that I'll be potting up soon. These represent a month's worth of growth.

Darcy

1. End of September
2. End of June

I live for Darcy early in the season and at the end of it. I love these gorgeous shades. Otherwise, mid-summer it is bright yellow.

Bumped up these #tubercuttings after 10 days. Just using vermiculite and high quality potting soil in humidity domes.

Not all the #cuttings have taken this quickly, so I'm making notes.

Valley Tawny

Hard to find easily in Canada. Thankful that a grower offered cuttings. It's a very unique colour that I absolutely love. Its petal form reminds me of Linda's Baby, especially when you see them side-by-side.

Had this beautiful bloom for a short time two seasons ago - originally it came as a cutting. But, I didn't take leaf cuttings in time and it didn't have enough time to produce tubers, so I let it go permanently. But it sure is pretty.

CT Lion's Mane

I've grown this for a couple of years now. I love its lacinated petals and cantaloupe colour, BUT, I'm kicking this out of the garden for the next season. It makes fantastic tubers, but does not make great cut flowers.

RIP.

I love ball varieties the most, like this one.

A dahlia that is beautiful and pumps blooms out all summer long on strong stems. I love this one.

Brown Sugar.

I love it's unique rust colour. It was amazingly prolific 2 seasons ago. This past season it didn't do as well.

I'm trying out Copper Boy this season as well to compare the two.

Break Out.

I'm not growing this anymore mostly because I don't love it's growth habit, but when I see this photo, I'm reminded how beautiful it really is. Blush-yellow-light peach tones - it's easy to admire.

Rose Toscano.

I've only grown this for one season. I always try and grow varieties for at least two, so that I can evaluate how it does in the garden and if I really really like it.

This one is so good. A unique shade that can be described as raspberry to dusty-rose.

Mission G***y will always have a place in my garden. Canadian-bred by David Jack of Ferncliff Gardens.

Miss Amara is so lovely. I think she's one that would become an instant favourite if people tried her. I got a cutting of this last spring and I still was able to get 6 viable tubers when I divided in the fall.

I was able to get Darcy as a cutting a couple of years ago and I can't get over how much of a chameleon it is. It can be bright yellow, but I much prefer it in the cooler parts of the growing season when it looks like this:
