J64’s arrival marks the fifth calf born into J pod in just over a year, following the births of J62 in late 2024 and J63 earlier in 2025. With the Southern Resident population hovering around 74 whales, every successful birth is a crucial step toward recovery, researchers say.

All of us from the National office are buzzing after an amazing week of connecting, strategizing, learning, and having fun in Ottawa. Nothing replaces getting to know each other in person, and we know that we’ll be stronger as an organization because of it.

👉https://buff.ly/ippYzZr

Bill C-5 might be trading nature away. The Building Canada Act was rushed through in the name of economic recovery, but it ignores the crisis facing our forests, wildlife, water – and us. 🪓 “Canada Strong” should mean protecting what sustains us.👉https://buff.ly/CcZdM5S
