Themi cooled off a little last season from his incredible 2024, because although he improved offensively, the rest of this game suffered. Still a massive loss to the Canadian game as he transfers south of the border.

Sturing in 2025 was, and has historically been, a generally unremarkable CB. Perfectly average compared to his peers, with no noticiable flaws or weaknesses. This can be considered good or bad depending on your point of view.

Brett Levis has seemingly announced his retirement on social media! During his time in Winnipeg, he was one of the best FBs in the league, and after his return from a brief USL hiatus he was a solid depth CB option on a title-winning team. All the best Brett!

Coimbra impressed and improved during his three seasons in the CPL, culminating in a permanent starter role last season and a U21 player award. This transfer is a testament to the developmental nature of this league and his quality as a young player!

Holding out on this type of player was a choice from Forge, and it has now come back to bite them in a big way. Badibanga in 2024 was an extremely direct and dangerous winger, and if he doesn't miss a step will be a weapon for Inter this season.

Hojabrpour is absolutely one of the better success stories of the CPL thus far. Perhaps it wasn't the springboard for a young player like other examples, but he developed in this league from a bit player to key contributer, and now is playing in Europe!

Reid was an extremely dynamic attacking threat for York last season, someone who was probably serially underutilized in his time in the CPL. It's a shame we never saw him for a better team in a more consistent role.

At best, Vehoeven was only an average player during his time in the CPL, posting his best season in 2019 but never again reaching those heights. His passing was always a strong suit, but his other metrics dragged him down. A fine career, and leaves the league a champion!

Gutierrez did not have stats recorded for him this season, and I am sure he played better than Shome. Neverthless, Shome continues to be a minute muncher despite his historically poor metrics. He will probably get a contract at this level despite...everything.

Benati was an alright midfield option off the bench in Ottawa, and who was a better threat offensively than a help defensively. She will most likely get more minutes in Halifax, so still room to see her full potential.

Pechersky has signed for the Roses! Ranking as the best player in the league last season, she is very good at recovering the ball and on ground duels, and ranks the highest in foul differential. Her one real weakness is in defensive actions. Amazing signing!

A stalwart in the AFC Toronto midfield, Regan showed few weaknesses going forward, but was a little rough in duels and defensive actions. She was particularly good at her passing success rates. Great move for her!

Excellent acquisition (re-acquisition?) for Ottawa. Mbomio instantly became the best CB on the team when he arrived, and to get him for longer than his initial short-term loan is huge.

While getting up there, Lopez played very well off the bench for York Uni- I mean Inter Toronto, even if his WPA suggests otherwise. More opportunity might have paid off on the pitch both for him and his club.

I find it shocking that a talented midfielder forced to play out of position as a closer would leave for greener pastures and the opportunity to play full 90s. Nevertheless, she played well in her role and leaves a champion!

Tyr was stuck behind the other three U21 CB options in Ottawa last season, but on a rate basis ranked as the best player of that group. With rumours swirling, it's possible he will play a bigger role next season.

Baldisimo was an alright depth option at the 6 for Cavs last season. He was a very good distributer, and a decent duellist, but didn't show up much elsewhere. Decent retention.

Golen recently extended with the Rapid, a good get for them. Her numbers are a little variable, but she was one of the better wingers in a weak 2025 NSL class. Good potential here.

Chang was one of the best players in the league last year, so this is a shock, unless it is for better things, given she is still young. She doesn't have any standout attributes, but is very well-rounded, if a little offensive minded. Tough loss for the Rise.

Jimoh remained an exciting offensive talent in 2025, even if he, expectedly, regressed slightly analytically in a larger sample. Only 17, the sky is the limit for him.

Abathneh's hyper-inflated short passing and touches stats are doing a lot of heavy lifting for an already medicore WPA grade, but he has definitely increased his defensive prowess from last season. Rumoured for a move, this will only increase his stock.

Field has always been a solid FB option off the bench, increasing his defensive impact but regressing slightly offensively from 2024. He would make a good depth option for any CPL club next year.

Kobza is the best of the returnees, someone who started his CPL career with great promise but has lapsed into a good-but-not-great option at the 6. A very good passer and duellist, he still has room to grow.

Although he scores well, Juhmi's numbers are a little all over the place, typical for someone his age and sample size. He is an excellent dueller though, and his 2025 will be one to watch.

Leon was a serviceable defensive CB last season with York United, but who had much better numbers in 2024. He will likely prove a solid starter again next season.
