McClatchy keeps telling us that they want flexibility. What they mean is that they want the flexibility to fire us when they want, to keep discipline haunting us and to cancel our vacations and parental leave.

As part of our new contract negotiations, the Washington State NewsGuild and the Idaho NewsGuild are proposing protections to keep our journalism safe from the growing desire of McClatchy to "embrace" AI.
