Who needs Hard-Off with deals like these 💩

DP is backwards compatible, just like HDMI. Using a device/adapter that's an older DP version just means you're limited to bandwidth of that older DP version.

You need Spyder_fw_DP_CM-7.01.124.fullrom, which was annoying to find. This worked for both me and a friend, on our LG C1 OLEDs at least. HDR can be fickle though (might have to unplug/replug the adapter to get it working), but I'm waiting on HDR on Linux to better supported anyway.

There's 2 that are the same hardware. One is just an adapter, and one is essentially it built into a cable.

Cable Matters has a firmware download on their webpage with the flasher, but it doesn't include the firmware version you need.

There's a specific DP1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter that with a specific firmware can do 4k 120hz with VRR (Freesync?). Since it's using DP1.4 it has to use Displayport Compression (DSC) to achieve 4k120hz. It looks pretty good, but not perfect. Much better than HDMI 2.0 with chroma subsampling.

I've preferred PC for current gen games for a long time now. It's essentially the forever game system with absurd levels of "backwards compatibility", and generally if you go back and play an older once taxing game on your new hardware it automatically runs better (or worst case can be modded to).

I hope that's still around in whatever store that is when I go in 2027.

I've heard people saying it's really good but I don't know if it's $70 good. Also from what I've seen it appears the PC version requires an internet connection even for single player modes 🤨

I was under the impression you were a geek. I guess I was wrong 😏

Any word on when the GC Memcard Pro will be back in stock too?

Great guide, but now longing for a 2nd trip there that probably won't happen until 2027 😢

Old Pro Logic II stuff still requires a license? I would've assumed that had lapsed since why would anything new use it? I was thinking emulators just decode/convert it to LPCM or something.

I love how it looks on Switch 2, but hate that the only option for that version is to essentially rent the game eternally

I feel like I'm derping, but what game is this?

I've actually migrated to Jellyfin within the last month. Free and open source. UI isn't as polished but works well enough and keeps getting updated. I was trying it out about once a year before and this time was the 1st I didn't have major issues with it.

I had kinda low expectations for that game hearing it was a kinda slow paced action dungeon crawler, but gave it a chance since it was by Falcom and I loved it

Come on PC version
January 28, 2025 at 11:04 AM
It's been a while since I've had an Xbox, but I had the same issue with the 1.6 or whatever, but I also ripped the games to the HDD and there were some unofficial patches to make (all?) of the problematic games work with 480p over component.

This was not on my bingo card for enhanced ports of Japanese only niche games that will also be getting a western release.

It better also be DLC for the original.
