Your ave person catching a news story once in a while doesn't see the pattern where pro business politicians like SF Mayor Daniel Lurie get puff pieces, while anyone trying to change things for the better has news media, PR firms, businesses, and police conspiring to destroy their careers.

Elect a centrist democratic former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and watch the local news run years of stories about how Oakland is burning. Similar situation with SF city Supervisor Jackie Fielder.

In the bay area all the news media is owned by the very rich and is politically right of center except some small news outlets like @oaklandside.org @missionlocal.org @kpfa.org @kqednews.kqed.org

I'd wait and see, Trump says one thing one day and the opposite the next. Lurie, should know this but he wants this badly enough to see his cup as half full..........
