The artists constantly use sharp, spikey SFX, which are really tricky to draw with curvy roman letters. I had to develop a new method for drawing SFX because of this series. It was a fun challenge!!

I was amazed to learn that Riot was done by him. Only round out after the fact. Otherwise I would have asked him about it back then. It has such a different style from his Attack on Titan and Dororo series. And I love the old localization lettering on it.

Feels like a different era of that convention. I don't think any Japanese mangaka guests since then have had artist alley booths. They mostly gone for bigger names.

I got to meet the artist at Anime NYC 2019. This hasn't been licensed for an English release yet, but he was selling autographed copies of the first volume at his booth in the artist alley. And taking illustration commissions. Cool guy.

Been watching Big Love for Harry Dean Stanton. He's great and scary in it, but it's just packed with character across I love. Grace Zabriskie steals the show any time she shows up. Chloë Sevigny is super compelling. Don't love the writing overall, but the cast is so strong.
